It had been decided by Custer’s people that his failing health required them to make a decision. 16-years-old, one eye left, and other pain, they decided to make his last day the best one they could. A trip to Starbucks for his favorite Frappuccino drink. A car ride with his head out the window. And a little petting from strangers who were some of his biggest admirers’. Let’s make everyday a good one for man’s best friend.

Some years ago a movie made the claim that “all dogs go to heaven”. I know a cat person who claims all kitties do too. I’ve heard preachers make an argument for both sides. Who can say for sure? Most people I know haven’t actually been there. Considering the complete loyalty and devotion good dogs have towards their people, it is hard to imagine heaven without them.
