Emily Dickinson on April
Absent Place — an April Day –
Daffodils a-blow
Homesick curiosity
To the Souls that snow —
Drift may block within it
Deeper than without —
Daffodil delight but
Him it duplicate –

Spring comes on the World —
I sight the Aprils —
Hueless to me until thou come
As, till the Bee
Blossoms stand negative,
Touched to Conditions
By a Hum.
– Emily Dickinson [April Mist photo by DME]
Spring is the Period
Spring is the Period
Express from God.
Among the other seasons
Himself abide,
But during March and April
None stir abroad
Without a cordial interview
With God.

The Year’s At The Spring
by Robert Browning
The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in his Heaven-
All’s right with the world!
